(Phoenix, Arizona) – A Maricopa County Grand Jury has charged Charles Lee Ryan with two felony charges. The charges are a result of an incident that occurred in Tempe on January 6, 2022. Ryan has been indicted with one count of disorderly conduct involving weapons, a Class 6 dangerous offense and one count of unlawful discharge of a weapon, also a Class 6 dangerous offense.
“As a 30-year prosecutor, I understand the importance of focusing on the facts and evidence of each individual case when making charging decisions. A thorough review of this case was conducted by experienced prosecutors in this office. I want to assure this community that a person’s occupation, race, age, or other such factors of this nature do not influence charges that are sought by this office,” stated County Attorney Rachel Mitchell.
A charge in a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
