“A lawsuit was filed by the ACLU against the prior administration related to the release of public records by the County Attorney’s Office. One of my first priorities as county attorney was to address a backlog of public records requests with this office. After a review of process, I directed my team to streamline the system and provide additional resources to ensure this office was not only responsive to requests but to dramatically reduce the amount of time it took to provide publicly available documents,” stated County Attorney Adel. “I am committed to transparency and our settlement with the ACLU demonstrates this commitment. Currently, most public records requests filed with this office are provided in days and weeks, rather than months, and we continue to identify efficiencies to the process.”
