PHOENIX— Yesterday a jury found Aaron Dutra (D.O.B. 08/23/1968) guilty of Armed Robbery, Aggravated Assault, and Kidnapping for the robbery of a 16-year-old cashier at a restaurant in 2016.
“This defendant has eight prior felony convictions, including three for armed robbery and two for robbery, he now faces a minimum life sentence for his continued disregard of our laws,” said Maricopa County Attorney Bill Montgomery. “This verdict shows our commitment to holding offenders accountable for their actions and ensuring those who repeatedly threaten our community are kept from doing further harm.”
Dutra was released on community supervision for a previous armed robbery when on January 1, 2016, he walked up to the cashier of a fast food restaurant and pulled out a stun gun demanding money from her register. After getting the cash he ran from the restaurant and a minute later was stuck by a vehicle and injured.
