Corona Del Sol High School - 08/29/2014
MCAO volunteers visited Corona del Sol High School on Aug. 29 to kick off the 2014 season of Friday Night Football Patrol. The Corona Del Sol Aztecs not only defeated the Buena Colts 30 to 27, but the Aztec students stepped up their game by signing 608 drug-free pledges! Congratulations to Ben S., who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and Bella A., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game. This is a great start to an exciting Friday Night Football Patrol season!!!
Gilbert High School - 09/05/2014
The Gilbert High School Tigers broke our Friday Night Football Patrol pledge record on Sep. 5! A total of 1,513 students signed the drug-free pledge during lunch and the first half of the game against the Desert Ridge Jaguars. Congratulations to Hannah S., who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and to Kelly W., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game. Gilbert High School is setting the bar rather high for the rest of the season. Can any other school beat them?
Deer Valley High School - 09/12/2014
Due to a student early release day, MCAO volunteers were unable to visit Deer Valley High School lunches on Sep. 12. However, MCAO volunteers were on hand for Friday Night Football Patrol later that day! The Deer Valley Seahawks showed up to win 35 – 21 against the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs; students signed 207 drug-free pledges! Congratulations to D’Artagnan P. who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game.
Mountain Pointe High School - 09/19/2014
The Mountain Pointe High School showed their pride on and off the field by winning their football game 45 - 42 over the Chandler Wolves and by having 987 students sign drug-free pledge on Sept. 19 during lunch and at the game. Congratulations to Jayla S., who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and to Frank S., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game. Next week we are visiting Hamilton High so we will see if Mountain Point keeps their winning streak.
Hamilton High School - 09/26/2014
Hamilton High School defeated Mountain Pointe in football, winning 30 – 10 on Sept. 26. The Huskies also fared well in the number of students who signed the drug-free pledge. With 1,256 student signatures, Hamilton High School has the second highest number of student pledges in the four-year history of MCAO’s Friday Night Football Patrol program. Congratulations to Kaitlyn J., who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and to Olivia M., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game.
Maryvale High School - 10/02/2014
Although Maryvale High School didn’t win the football game against North High School with the score ending 20 – 14 on Oct. 2, the Panthers won by having 993 students sign the drug-free pledge. Maryvale students beat out the number of pledges of much larger schools in the valley. Congratulations to Julian C., who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and to Juanita G., who won the half-time drawing for a $500 gift card at the game!
Mountain View High School - 10/10/2014
Although it was Fall break and many students were gone on vacation, the Mountain View Toros showed their pride and defeated the Desert Mountain Wolves 49 – 34. Mountain View students signed 114 drug-free pledges during Friday Night Football Patrol on October 10. Congratulations to Michael G., who won a $50 gift card, and Giovanni P., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game.
Paradise Valley High School - 10/17/2014
Paradise Valley crushed the competition, defeating the Cactus Shadows Falcons 42 – 7 at the game on October 17. The PVHS Trojans also showed a sincere dedication to a healthy lifestyle by having 672 drug-free pledges signed by the student body at the Friday Night Football Patrol booth. Congratulations to Grace Y., who won a $50 gift card and Caroline S., who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game.
Red Mountain High School - 10/24/2014
Friday Night Football Patrol volunteers were back in Mesa this week and the results were amazing! Red Mountain High School, home of the Mountain Lions football team won Friday's home conference game against rival school Mountain View by a score of 30-28. They also had 785 students sign drug-free pledge on October 24 during lunch and at the game. Congratulations to Ernesto H. who won a $50 gift card at the lunch drawing and to Amber B. who won the drawing for a $500 gift card at the game.
Chandler High School - 10/31/2014
Chandler High School Wolves finished their regular season with a 49-21 win over the Highland High School Hawks of Gilbert. CHS students also demonstrated their commitment to healthy living—570 students signed the drug-free pledge at lunch and at the game.
