POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Division Chief is tasked with leading, supervising, and managing a criminal trial division in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office. The division is comprised of various trial bureaus that handle the prosecution of a wide variety of felony offenses which may include crimes such as complex frauds, sex offenses, aggravated assaults, and homicides. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Capital Litigation Bureau Chief is tasked with leading, supervising, and managing the bureau in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office that prosecutes homicide cases, including capital crimes and other felony offenses. The Bureau Chief will directly supervise trial lawyers, a paralegal supervisor, and an administrative professional supervisor. ATTORNEY IV – SENIOR COUNSEL

ATTORNEY – CIVIL LITIGATION

DIVISION/SECTION/UNIT: Civil Service Division
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Civil Litigation Attorney will handle litigation caseloads that include defending cases in Maricopa County Superior Court and the United States District Court. The types of cases that may be handled range from state law tort claims to civil rights claims. Additionally, should there be an appeal of any claim, the attorney will prepare the necessary appellate briefs and argue those cases in the appellate court. All litigation attorneys are given a great deal of autonomy to handle their assigned cases, while at the same time having access to the knowledge and experience of seasoned litigators. SPECIALTY COURTS PROSECUTOR I-II

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Specialty Courts Attorney is responsible for handling cases for the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office in the Probation Violation Courts and other specialty courts. Duties include representing the State in probation violation court proceedings which requires the attorney to review felony matters where the defendant is alleged to have violated their terms of probation, make appropriate sentencing recommendations, respond to both oral and written motions, and conduct evidentiary hearings as needed. TAX ATTORNEY
